About Firestone Walker Brewing Company
Firestone Walker Brewing Company was founded in 1996 by brothers-in-law Adam Firestone and David Walker in a shed on the family vineyard in Paso Robles, California. The pair began brewing after failing to find a decent local ale, using a second-hand brewhouse and converted winemaking equipment. In 2001, operations moved to a dedicated brewery in Paso Robles, where they hired brewmaster Matt Brynildson, who has led production since. The company produces craft beer, barrel-aged beer, and packaged beer at its Paso Robles facility. Processes include brewing, barrel aging, and packaging. The brewery distributes its products nationwide while maintaining a California identity. The company’s stated differentiator is its “Beer Before Glory” mantra, emphasizing quality over accolades. It also highlights a commitment to sustainable brewing practices and its roots as a California beer company that draws energy from local communities.
