Western Solar Inc

About Western Solar Inc

The locally owned company began with a mission to bring high-quality solar solutions to homeowners and businesses across the state, advocating early for net‑metering policies that would make solar financially viable for more customers. The firm provides full‑service solar photovoltaic design, permitting, installation, and ongoing maintenance, along with energy‑storage systems, electric‑vehicle chargers, and smart electrical panels. All work is performed in‑house by a crew of electricians, roofers, and designers—no subcontractors are used. Since inception, Western Solar has installed more than 3,000 residential and commercial systems throughout Washington, drawing on nearly a century of combined team experience. Customers range from individual homeowners in communities such as Freeland, Ferndale, and Bellingham to commercial and institutional clients. A notable project is the Fisherman’s Pavilion community solar array on the Bellingham waterfront, developed in partnership with the Port of Bellingham, Puget Sound Energy, Silfab Solar, and Cascadia Renewables. The company also collaborates with local utilities to advance smart‑home energy solutions. Western Solar distinguishes itself through an integrated, no‑subcontractor model that covers design through lifetime service, a commitment to consumer‑protection advocacy through the Washington Solar Energy Industries Association (WASEIA), and a focus on integrity and craftsmanship rather than high‑pressure sales.
