About Used Hitchcock Furniture
Used Hitchcock Furniture operates from a showroom in Middlefield, Connecticut. What started as a side venture to fund a personal goal—a Pontiac Trans Am—gradually grew into a full-time operation. The company specializes in acquiring, restoring, and reselling Hitchcock-brand furniture, while also offering restoration services for all furniture brands. Its showroom carries a rotating selection of gently used Hitchcock pieces—chairs, rocking chairs, dining tables, hutches, bedroom sets, and accent items—alongside a stock of unrestored furniture that can be finished to a customer’s specifications. Services include chair gluing (typically $40 per chair with a 24- to 48-hour turnaround), full restoration (usually one to three weeks), delivery, assembly, and a locating service for hard-to-find items. The business also serves clients who want custom finishes on unrestored inventory. The founder has stated that the business began as a way to furnish the family home and fund a dream car, and that passion for craftsmanship remains central. The company emphasizes that its restoration pricing is among the lowest in the area, with short wait times, and that customer projects are prioritized over its own inventory.
