About Texas Hill Country Furniture
Texas Hill Country Furniture & Mercantile operates from Lipan, Texas, a small community along US Highway 281 south of Interstate 20. The business was started by Larry and Sherry, a husband-and-wife team who built the operation into a full-scale furniture store and workshop within its first year. While the exact founding year isn't published, the company's online presence dates back to at least 2014. The shop produces a range of solid-wood furniture including rocking chairs, dining room suites, bedroom sets, and custom pieces. Each item is handcrafted from native Texas hardwoods — primarily cedar, mesquite, oak, and pecan — and finished with a rustic aesthetic the founders call the "Texas Hill Country look." The rocking chair line, distinguished by a hand-carved five-point star in the headrest, has become a signature product with demand that the company says regularly outpaces supply. The company sells directly to consumers through its retail showroom, which spans two floors and displays both furniture and a curated selection of Texas-made home decor accessories. There is no indication of wholesale or contract manufacturing channels in the available materials; the customer base appears to be individual homeowners and visitors seeking regional craftsmanship. Larry and Sherry attribute their appeal to the authenticity of their designs and the personal touch Sherry brings to merchandising.
