About Putco Inc

Putco Inc. was founded in 1969 in Des Moines, Iowa, where it remains headquartered. The company began as a designer and manufacturer of aftermarket automotive and truck accessories, building a reputation for innovation over more than five decades. Today, Putco operates a 140,000-square-foot facility that includes 15,000 square feet dedicated to research and design and 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space. The in-house R&D team uses advanced design software and a fleet of test vehicles to develop, validate, and refine products such as LED lighting, bed rails, headache racks, and branded letter kits for trucks and SUVs. The company serves the automotive aftermarket, truck accessory retailers, and OEM brands including Ford, GM, Mopar, Nissan, and Chrysler. Its product line spans overlanding racks, perimeter strobe lights, tailgate light bars, and model-specific components for vehicles such as the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, Jeep Wrangler, and Ford Bronco. Putco emphasizes its identity as a legitimate U.S.-based manufacturer rather than a simple distributor, highlighting complete control over design, testing, and production.
