About Hyde Woodworking Company; LLC
Hyde Woodworking Company, LLC operates from a 1,100-square-foot workshop in St. Louis, Missouri. The business was formally organized in March 2023 by founder Will Hyde, who had been woodworking as a hobby since 2016 and registered his first venture, "hydewoods," in 2017. After a career in logistics and supply chain management, Hyde transitioned to full-time furniture making in 2020, teaching woodshop and working in an industrial wood shop before launching the current company. The company produces bespoke, solid-wood furniture — heirloom pieces such as dining tables, consoles, and custom built-ins — using a blend of traditional hand-tool techniques and modern machinery. Each project is built to order in the St. Louis shop; there is no mass-production line. Hyde personally selects lumber sourced from local suppliers who practice sustainable forestry, and he collaborates with other St. Louis-area makers for hardware and finishing. Customers are primarily residential clients seeking custom furniture for specific spaces — cozy nooks, grand dining rooms, elegant living areas. The company also works with interior designers and local businesses on collaborative projects. No commercial or industrial sectors are mentioned. Hyde says the business was born from frustration with cheaply made, overpriced furniture when furnishing his first home. The semi-colon in the company name signals support for mental-health awareness; the logo incorporates Kalamata olives as a tribute to his daughter. The three-word slogan — Handmade; Local; Sustainable — reflects a commitment to craft, community sourcing, and environmental responsibility.
